*An invitation letter issued by a company, corporation, institution, or an individual in China
must contain all of the following information. Invitation letters submitted without the following information will be denied and cause a delay in processing:

Letter must be written on company letterhead

Letter must be addressed to the Consulate of China

Letter must state the personal information of the applicant: full name, gender, date of birth and passport details: number, issue and expiration date

Letter must state the position of the applicant at the company

Letter must explain the relationship between the host and the applicant

Letter must briefly state the nature or purpose of applicant's visit

Letter must state the approximate date of visit, the date of arrival and departure from China

Letter must indicate who will be responsible for the cost of the applicant’s accommodations and expenses while in China

Letter must have personal information of the inviting host: name of the unit or Department, Name of individual who signs the letter, direct phone number (include extension) or preferably the cell phone number, address (physical location) of signer*

Letter must specifically state the city or cities to be visited- very important!

Letter must specify the validity of the visa and number of entries the applicant is requesting. If this is not specified the consular officer will issue the visa at their discretion.

Letter must be signed by host, and if applicable, seal and signature of the legal representative

Letter does not need to be original
Please Note: Although it is not likely the Embassy or Consulate may request the original invitation letter, supplementary documents to support the application or schedule a personal interview.
*IMPORTANT CHANGE TO CHINA BUSINESS VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
The Chinese Embassy and consulates have advised that they will conduct random calls to the individual who has signed the Letter of Invitation. To make the process as seamless as possible and avoid possible delay, please insure that detailed contact information of the signer is provided.
The following information is required on the Letter of Invitation:
