Get an Expedited
Visa to Ghana

The application for a Ghana Visa is filled out electronically. Please review and scan all of the requirements below before you begin as they need to be uploaded during the online application process. The file size of each scan must not exceed 250 KB.

1. Your passport info page
2. Passport size photo taken within the last 6 months
3. Hotel reservation OR Letter of Invitation along with a copy of host's passport/ID
4. Flight confirmation
5. Proof of USA status for non-US passport holders
6. Copy of signature (you may sign your name on any piece of paper and scan it)
   • Minor applicants must upload a copy of the signature of the parent who will sign the printed application.

The consular fee must be paid directly to the Ghana Embassy by the applicant as you complete the online Ghana visa application.
You must include your Ghana Embassy payment receipt with your visa application. Most credit cards are accepted.

Ready to apply? Note the following when completing  Ghana Online Visa Application:

• Question 9: Select "Expedited Service" if you're traveling within 2 weeks.
• Question 10: Select "Postal Services" as 'Mode of Submission' however, DO NOT PAY the postage fees.
• Name/reference in Ghana will be asked twice. You can enter the same information for both.

The consular fee must be paid online to the Ghana Embassy as you complete your online Ghana visa application. Once you have made payment, you will receive a payment receipt from the Embassy by email. 
Print out your payment receipt.

You must send your passport – a copy is not acceptable. 

• Your signed passport must have more than 6 months validity remaining to apply for a visa. Visa will not be issued with less than 6 months validity.
• Must contain sufficient blank visa pages. Visas are affixed to the blank "Visa" pages of your passport. "Amendment" pages (clearly marked as such) in the back of your passport are not acceptable for visa issuance.

Please submit one (1) recent passport photograph taken within the last six months.
Please carefully review the Passport Photo Style Regulations.

Important: Please do not cut/trim & staple the photo to the visa application. You can simply attach it with a paper clip or send it loose and we will attach it for you.

You must provide a copy of ONE of the following items:
• A computer generated flight confirmation from your airline or a travel agency indicating the dates of entry and exit from the country you are visiting. Your name must be on the itinerary OR;
• A copy of your airline ticket indicating the dates of entry and exit from the country you are visiting. Your name must be on the ticket (do not send original ticket)

Please provide a copy of your Hotel Reservation.

However, if you are staying with a friend/host, a letter of explanation from your host, plus a copy of your host's passport/national ID/visa are required.

Minors (17 & Under) must submit:

(1) A signed Ghana Letter of Consent (Notarized) from both parents authorizing the Embassy to issue a visa to a minor.
(2) Both parents must provide a copy of valid picture ID (state issued driver's license is the best form of ID).
(3) A copy of the minor applicant's birth certificate.
